This week we are working on starting a new 80cm Galileo, painting a Galileo, starting a 50cm Britannia, glossing another finished 50cm Britannia. Josh is starting a base for a 127cm sized globe in a new style base that is going to make it amazingly grand …. Kirsty & Sam are working on 23cm Mini Desk Globes while training to make 36cm globes. We finished a beautiful one-off turquoise Livingstone Desk Globe that was shipped to America after we took a few photos! The bright blue Mini globes are being made special for Linley, it is their own colouring chosen to be available in limited number in their London store.
You might notice a new colour on both 80cm and 50cm globes Isis is painting further down, this is “Britannia Blue” .. it was a colour system we used many years ago on some of our first globes. It has many layers of different colours in the ocean and a variation of colours in the shading around the continents. We had not made one in so long & then two separate customers requested.
The bright red, orange and yellow 80cm globe is for the artist Yinka Shonibare.
