Last week Pete made a 50cm Britannia which Isis has been painting. The Britannia was the first in the Bellerby & Co. collection, and is a beautiful, freestanding globe; offering a fine spin with our specially weighted orbs.
The map is correct to 2015 and is painted by hand in superb turquoise hues with striking contrasts and fine detail. As our first piece, it was developed with the help of renowned typographer James Mosely, who allowed us to use his self-designed font. The globe sits in a hand made stand, which is crafted using reclaimed oak, and is available in the Octagonal or Rounded table.
Jon is working on two 80cm Galileo‘s, with all the stages and drying time he is able to go between the two. One is in a minty green and the other other in a bespoke deep shade of blue. The second is darker blue than we have ever done before, excited to see how it looks when it is finished!
Kirsty is working on Olive Mini Desk Globes for the first time.
Our new apprentice Sam started this week, she is working on cutting gores and applying them to practice globes.
Lastly, Isis is finishing up the shading on a Champagne Mini Desk Globe. This colour is not shown on our website but is available to order with any base (Brass, Aluminium, Copper, London Plane, Zebrano or Walnut).
